Will ChatGPT destroy education or revive it?

The title itself starts a battle in one’s head about how artificial intelligence is taking over reality. The impact of it on the human race has been evident with regard to the pandemic. For a fair opinion from both sides, various chatbots were asked about the exact line. Some of the non-controversial responses that the AI came up with were:

“As an AI language model, I do not have the ability to destroy or resuscitate education. However, I can provide insight into how AI, such as ChatGPT, can impact education. . .

. .  the key is to approach AI in education with caution, recognizing both its potential benefits and risks. AI should be viewed as a tool that can support and enhance education, but it should not be seen as a replacement for human teachers or the complex social interactions that take place in a classroom.”  – ChatGPT

“It is impossible to predict whether ChatGPT or such chatbots will destroy or resuscitate education. However, it is clear that technology has the potential to revolutionize the way students learn. As the technology continues to evolve and improve, it is likely that it will become a valuable tool for educators and students alike.”  – Wordtune Editor 

There is no doubting the truth in the response from these AI platforms. The education system has to have essential human factors at any point. To allow students to brainstorm and think of solutions themselves, which any AI platform wouldn’t be able to determine as easily as a human would. Building minds through a creative process is what teachers and the education system are all about.

In addition, the discussion here has to be open-ended and very subjective. AI has the most drastic influence on the arts and streams related to it. Giving AI a broader meaning and relevance. When used consciously, this can make the best of careers and if otherwise students can be misled too. Courses and degrees like Certificate Courses in Sound Engineering and Design, Master of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication and Postgraduate Event Management courses are the epitome of the balance of technology and human interaction in education.

Additionally, AI cannot fully replicate the complex interactions and social dynamics that take place in a classroom. AI might be a great help in explaining the methods and theories with a visual representation for further clarity. But evaluating how each student’s mind revolves around that idea is a far more complex criterion.

Thus, the answer remains the same: there has to be a balance in this case too. A balance between the AI and human education systems. Meeting somewhere in the middle, this combination can be a boon for generations to come.
