University of Mumbai’s GICED in association with DGMC has launched career centric certificate course in Sound Engineering & Design; The underlying thought being that the real soul of a film or a video lies in appropriate and balanced sound, which has gained huge importance in the recent years.
Sound is that element which brings the entire scene to life, literally! For that you will have to learn bit of physics and of course functioning of a variety of gadgets, microphones, mixers and software. Alongside, you will be trained in various recording, sound editing & mixing techniques.
A good sound professional will first have to imagine an appropriate sound/ score with respect to a shot, and finalize the best available equipment to generate those sound clips. You will learn all this hands-on in our professional sound recording studio/specially-equipped classrooms. Specialization in Electronic Music Production is also available along with Sound Design & Recording.

Candidates who have passed the 12th Std or equivalent exams are eligible for provisional admission for the program.

Number of Seats: The course has a total intake capacity of 30 students
Fee Structure:
The fee for 9-Months is INR 1,20,000/- and includes tuition fees, library fees & computer fees. An additional refundable security deposit of INR 15,000/- will be charged in the first semester fees.

Fee for Foreign Students:
The fees for international students is 5 times as prescribed by the University of Mumbai and will be as per rules framed by the University of Mumbai from time to time
Accommodation Help:
DGMC helps in finding suitable accommodation for outstation students by connecting to reputed brokers. The monthly rent could vary form INR 5000/- to INR 15, 000/- on sharing basis depending on amenities & location. The rent will not include food, electricity, & Internet charges.
