The students of DGMC Theatre Group participated and qualified for the finals in the 80th IPTA ICDC 2022 (Indian People’s Theatre Association’s Inter-Collegiate Drama Competition) held in Mumbai on September 21st, 2022 at Ravindra Natya Mandir at Prabhadevi, Mumbai. IPTA is one of India’s oldest and most prestigious theatre associations, led by famous and legendary industry veterans. The finals were juried by the legendary writer, director and actor, Makarand Deshpande, veteran actress Sulbha Arya & veteran actor Avtar Gill. The event was attended by many actors and producers.
DGMC performed a Hindi one-act play titled, ‘Baap, Beta aur Woh’, written by Hemant Jangli and directed by Dheer Shah & Parth Sunita Desai. The play won the Critics Choice Award, Best Actor Award (Bhavesh Patil, FYBAFTNMP) for the role of Humanoid, and one of our students from TYBAMMC, Karanjot Singh, won the Award of Merit for his outstanding performance.
The play was well received and appreciated by all the industry experts.
