The NSS Unit of DGMC in collaboration with BMC conducted an inspection for waterborne diseases and Malaria Check-ups of the habitants of the DGMC’s adopted area near our college called “Vithal Pada”. The Pest Control Department, Health Department, and Surveillance staff of the BMC were part of this drive. The team Inspected water drums, plant pots, tarpaulin from rooftops.
Around 45 blood samples were collected and 82 water tanks were inspected, cleaned, and antimalarial medication was poured into the tanks. Moreover, while inspecting for Larvae of different breeds of mosquitoes; malaria parasite were found in about 5-7 water tanks.
The aim of the drive was to make a commitment to stay healthy in a clean environment.
