Media students yearn, yodel and cry to get industry exposure. Even getting to spend a day at a studio makes a filmmaking student feel fortunate. It takes a lot of favours to get there. But this is not the case for the students of DGMCMS.
The students of MAFTNMP, along with PGDM and GARWARE Short Term Course were fortunate to visit the sets and the shoot of ‘The Stage’- India’s only English singing reality show that will air on Colors Infinity. The reality show was being shot in a nook of the city at Essel Studios, Trombay. But more than watching the proceedings on stage, everyone was actively watching the operations on the shoot floor-The equipment, cameras, cranes, trolleys, technical efforts, production proceedings, etc. The students took note of how exactly a singing reality show is shot.
Many had the chance to have brief interactions with the members of the production. A few ensured clicking pictures with the show-host Ms. Shibani Dandekar and the judges, Mr. Ehsaan Noorani (music maestro from the Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy trio), Mr. Devraj Sanyal (CMD, Universal Music – Asia) and Ms. Monica Dogra (model, actress turned performer). The students were thankful to Prof. Partha Samanta and Prof. Mayuresh Belsare for facilitating the visit.
