NSS (National Service Scheme) Unit SB-22 of DGMC organized a 07 days residential camp at Society of Human and Environment Development (SHED), Saphale (West), With the vision to understand the community and develop a sense of social and civic responsibility, NSS volunteers of DGMCMS were introduced to the culture and lifestyle of the tribal communities. The mission of the camp was to inculcate the values of self-discipline and selflessly utilizing and imparting the knowledge for community development.
The Principal Dr. Amee Vora personally visited the camp and addressed the volunteers about cleanliness and social responsibility. The NSS Unit also conducted a Donation Drive and Voter ID registration drive. An eye check-up camp was also organised for the locals of the village by Vision Foundation. Free eyewear were also distributed.
Throughout the 07 days of the camp, the volunteers conducted and performed various activities and workshops for the students of the rural village. All the days of the camp began with yoga exercises and shramdaan. ‘Shramdaan’ was a NSS activity conducted as a part of a cleanliness drive. The students also learned the art of Warli Painting during their camp stay.
