“The Role of Gandhism in Resolving Interpersonal Conflicts”
A Panel Discussion organized by The Students’ Council (2020-21) of DGMC
Considering that the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi remains extraordinary and that his principles continue to have had an impact worldwide, the Students’ Council (2020-21) of Deviprasad Goenka Management College of Media Studies organized its first activity for the Academic Year 2020-21 in the form of a Panel Discussion themed “The Role of Gandhism in Resolving Interpersonal Conflicts” on 16th October 2020 from 3 pm to 4:30 pm on Google Meet.
The objective behind such a Panel Discussion was to interchange views and opinions about how we can implement Gandhian principles in our relationships & communication. The uniqueness of this panel was that it comprised entirely of the students and teachers of DGMC. While Prof Partha Samanta & Prof Kislayakindam Jha were the teachers on the panel, the student panelists were Ms Hannah Varghese (MACJ), Mr Amit Thete & Mr Raj Bhagat (both from SYBAFTNMP) and Mr Ramritik Dubey (FYBAMMC). The discussion was moderated by Prof Anchal Jain.
The flow of the discussion revealed insightful perspectives on Gandhiji’s principles and its practical applications in today’s times. About 90 students attended the discussion online. Dr. Amee Vora, Principal, DGMC, presented her views as well, and summed up with the statement, “Gandhiji is a thought indeed!”. She thereafter congratulated the Students’ Council for organizing this event as well as appreciated the student panelists for being a part of this unique discussion.
